What is an image consultant?

Well this is a less difficult question than ‘What is love?’… and that makes my attempt to answer this question here easier. Warm and fuzzy welcome to all my readers, I am Prachi .K, an Image Consultant and I am the owner /founder of Elanisque Image and Style studios, Mumbai. So let’s get to the point.

Who is an image consultant and what does he/she do?

An Image Consultant works on three aspects of your personality and guides you to enhance these.

The three aspects are;

1. Your APPERANCE
   A quick review of your personal style, your style personality type, your lifestyle, your personal color analysis and your body shape analysis gives an image consultant an idea of what kind of wardrobe will enhance your personal and professional goals. Grooming is also an important part of one’s Appearance which is worked upon by an image consultant.
2. Your Body language/Behaviour
   ‘You cannot not talk’. Even your silence is a communicator of sorts. Everything that you do or don’t do with your gestures, postures etc is a part of body language and the most powerful communication tool . One can make or break business deals and personal relations with how one chooses to communicate with his/her body language.

   An image consultant steps up here as your messiah, understands the mistakes that is keeping you away from your goals because of inappropriate and ineffective body language and takes steps to correct the same through consultation and practice.

3. Your Communication:
   We all communicate through spoken words too.
   Words that can evoke feelings ,intrigue, emotions or prejudice.
   Words that can be spoken slowly,harshly,loudly or softly
   Words that can make someone your friend for life or a stranger who passes you by.

   The importance of words is undermined sometimes underplayed. Hence an image consultant is needed who understands their importance and consults you on the Way you should speak i.e your tone   ,pitch, volume and what the content of your conversations should be i.e content of your social conversations, business conversations, personal conversations etc.
